Will We See Censor Pop-Ups In Begum Jaan, Sarkar 3 & Phillauri?
Earlier this week, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBBFC) sent out a letter to all the Bollywood studios and filmmakers. The letter stated in no uncertain terms that every film trailer will have to show the censor certificate before being aired, be it in theatres or small screen.

On date, the trailers are censored before being made public but they don't carry the certificate.

This diktat has been imposed after it came to the Board’s notice that the filmmakers were putting out trailers which contained the scenes which had been chopped off by the Board.

So, the CBFC’s new order, states that every trailer, be it the one which accompanies new releases in theatres or television will have to contain the CBFC certificate.

The filmmakers are obviously unhappy with this new measure because they buy air time to put out the trailers of the film and even every second taken up by the film certificate will cost them dearly especially as trailers are repeated on TV channels multiple times.

This comes soon after Nihalani accused the makers of Rangoon of violating the instructions given by the censor body.

The board had instructed the makers to show an anti-smoking disclaimer before the opening credits of the film. However, the instructions were violated.

Censor Chief Pahlaj Nihalani is adamant and the rule looks set to be implemented soon.

So the next time you are watching a movie on the big screen, you will be shocked to see not one but about 3-4 censor certificates popping up.

The same rule will apply to the trailers on TV also.

When contacted, Pahlaj Nihalani confirmed the story.

Begum Jaan, Sarkar 3 and Phillauri are some of the forthcoming releases. Let's see if the above mentioned Censor pop-ups come into effect by then.
